Jeanette Young
Jeanette Young, 97, of Rockport, passed away on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport. Jeanette was born on Jan. 13, 1922, in Evansville, to the late Daniel and Vernita (Herr) Thorpe. Jeanette was an active and faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She was also active in the United Methodist Women, Rebecca Circle, and Tri Kappa Epsilon Psi Chapter. Jeanette had worked with the South Spencer School Corporation from 1957 until 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.M. Young in 1993; Brothers, Ralph and Jim Thorpe. Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Diane Lillpop and her husband, Garry of Owensboro, Ky.; Grandson, Todd Young Lillpop and his wife, Audrey of Owensboro, Ky.; Great-grandsons, Ty Cannon Lillpop and Ace Edward Lillpop; Sister, Katherine "Cotty" Walters; Sisters-in-law, Betty Neal and Pearllean Thorpe; Many extended family and friends. Her grandson, Todd and great-grandsons, Ty and Ace were the apple of her eye. The family would like to thank Shelby Lester for her love and support, also everyone at Miller's Merry Manor and AseraCare Hospice. Services are 11 a.m.. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Rockport, Indiana with the Rev. Roberta Cook officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
