Mitsuko Mitzi' Kouma January 17, 1925 - June 1, 2018 Escondido Mitsuko "Mitzi" Kouma passed away June 1, 2018 at her home in Escondido, CA. She died peacefully after a brief illness. Mitzi was born January 17, 1925 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was the daughter of Zengoro Kouma and Koto Kouma (ne Nishida). The family returned to Japan in the late 30s. Mitzi was preceded in death by a sister Merry Kouma. Mitzi enjoyed gardening. She was a volunteer for several years at the Park Avenue Senior Center in Escondido helping organize and run the weekly Saturday dance and will be remembered by her many friends for her smile and cheerfulness. Mitzi worked as a hair stylist in Beverly Hills for several years, and she and her sister owned and operated a Baskin Robbins store in Marina Del Rey until 1990 when they retired and moved to Escondido. No local services are planned. Mitzi's cremains will be sent to Japan to be interred with her parents and sister.
