Karen M. Breen, age 63 of Chicago, IL, passed away on Wednesday March 7, 2018. She was born on March 2, 1955 in Washington, D.C., daughter of Therese and James Breen. Karen grew up in Detroit, MI, graduated from The University of Notre Dame in 1977 and then graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1981. She practiced Psychiatry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for the past 35 years. She recently married her long time partner and love of her life Brian Butler. Karen had a passion for music and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also had a love for the theatre, the arts, gardening and her favorite sports teams - the Detroit Tigers and Redwings. Survived by her loving husband Brian, her mother Therese, her brothers John and Patrick and her niece, nephews and many cousins. Preceded in death by her father James Breen in 2008. Wake will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 3:00-9:00pm at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60625.
