Rapp, Ralph Edward POTTERSVILLE Ralph Edward Rapp, 89, formerly of Colonie died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his home. Born on June 25, 1928, in Colonie, he was the son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Winegar) Rapp. Ralph served in the U.S. Army as a corporal from January, 1952 until December, 1953. Ralph was a mechanic for Fleetway Construction Company in Colonie. Ralph and his wife Carol own and operate Ideal Campground in Pottersville since 1984. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Hilbert Rapp. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carol A. (Gartland) Rapp of Pottersville whom he married on August 30, 1974; one daughter Sharon Casterlin of Colonie; one brother Wayne (Sheila) Rapp of Latham; two sisters, Lois Bristol of Voorheesville, Wilda (Clifford) Sandwick of Rhinebeck; three grandchildren, Carrie Lindenmann, Benjamin (Jamie) Casterlin, and Caity (Kiersten) Burns; two great-grandchildren, Sam Lindenmann and Piper Casterlin; and many nieces and nephews. At Ralph's request there will not be any visiting hours or services. A celebration of life will be in the early summer. Memorial may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405 Albany, NY, 12205.
