HANNIBAL, MO. - Jerry R. Mowen, 56, of Hannibal, formerly of Clayton, Ill., died at 7:39 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1961, in Quincy, a son of Wayne and Kathleen Grimmer Mowen. Jerry enjoyed spending time outdoors. He truly cherished time spent with family and friends. Survivors include a special friend, Marsha Payne of Hannibal; his mother, Kathleen Mowen of Clayton; four brothers, Gene (Teresa) Mowen of Camp Point, Ill., Jim (Judy) Mowen of Mendon, Ill., Kenny (Diane) Mowen of Golden, Ill., and Denny Mowen of Clayton; two sisters, Fran Peters (Tom Post) of Quincy, Ill., and Nancy Aikman of Clayton; three brothers-in-law, Marv Huber of Quincy, Rocky Broer of Clayton and David Ferrill of Mount Sterling, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Mowen; three sisters, Mary Lou Huber, Patricia Broer and JoAnne Welty Ferrill; and a great-nephew, Blayne Mowen. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Wolf Ridge Cemetery, south of Camp Point with the Rev. Mike Ellerman conducting. MEMORIALS: Jerry R. Mowen Memorial Fund.
