Marcella Brown Shipp, 86, of Steele, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Marcella was born to James and Lorene (Keel) Brown in Altoona, Alabama. She was a retired nurse's aide and attended Faith Pentecostal Church in Holland, Missouri. Marcella loved the outdoors, fishing, and bowling. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Verdie Shipp; her parents; a son, Edward Shipp; a daughter, Bessie Shipp; and three brothers, Ray, Cecil, and Hershel Brown. Marcella leaves her four children, James Shipp of Quinton, Alabama, Wanda Forsythe of Cooter, Missouri, Annette Rogers of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Ann Langston of Paragould, Arkansas; two sisters, Patricia Baldwin of Fultondale, Alabama and Anita Beckwith of Cullman, Alabama; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Pentecostal Church in Holland, Missouri with Pastor James Riley officiating. Burial follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home.
