Otis Wayne Bearden
Bearden, Otis Wayne 94, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was born in Qupaw, OK on January 22, 1923. He was retired from Bearden Pump and Well Services, which he and his wife founded, owned and operated for many years. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He served mainly aboard the light cruiser U.S.S. Columbia in the Asiatic Pacific area, as Petty officer 2nd class. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 112 Wichita, KS, American Legion Post 401 Wichita, KS, U.S.S. Columbia Association and the Wichita Eagles Lodge 3251. He lost his wife of 72 years, Charlotta, last June. He is survived by daughters, Jeanne (Jim) Evans, Claudia (Dave) Beck and Claude (Louise) Bearden; 6 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. Visitation will be held at noon followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, both at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, 6231 W. 47th St. S., Wichita, KS 67215.
