93, native of Orange, MA and former longtime resident of Wickliffe, OH, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2017 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash. Known as the Valentine Lady because of the homemade valentines that she sent for many years, Marjorie was also an avid reader and puzzle solver, an exercise enthusiast many years before it became popular, a student with multiple degrees including a PhD from Case Western Reserve, and an award winning teacher of kindergarten and college students. Dr. Ferrari was honored as the 1994 Ohio Teacher of Teachers by the Ohio Association for the Education of Young Children. She touched many people's lives in her 93 years of living. Preceded in death by Joe, her childhood sweetheart and husband of 66 years, she is survived by her loving family: children Susan (Peter Poulos), Joe (Ida), Philip (Beth), Nancy (Jim Vieburg); grandchildren Jim (Bess), Dan, Michelle (Pat Watson), Nick (Brittany), Philip (Rachael), Julie; great-grandchildren Ignatius (Iggy), Brendan, Connor, Ethan, Alexandra, Nathaniel; sisters Nancy (Ralph Woodrow) and Kay (Bernard Dodge). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members. Special thanks to the caring staff at Hospice of Cincinnati. Just like her husband Joe, Marjorie donated her body for medical research. On August 19, 2017, visitation at 10AM will precede an 11AM Memorial Service at Montgomery Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Montgomery Presbyterian Church (9994 Zig Zag Rd Montgomery, OH 45242), Hospice of Cincinnati (4360 Cooper Rd., Suite 300, Cincinnati, OH 45242) or to the charity of your choice.
