Paul E. "Squire" Cook
Paul "Squire" E. Cook, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on the morning of Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at The Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He is survived by his wife, Beryl, his daughters and sons in law, Faith and Bob McClain and Kathy and Bill Finckel; his grandchildren Brad McClain, Lauren (John) Ives, Jeff Kurtz and Courtney (Jim) Roche; and beloved great-granddaughters, Reilly and Zoe Ives. Born on October 18, 1927 and raised in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, Paul was the son of John and Anna (Fisher) Cook, and younger brother of Jack Cook. He graduated from Eddystone High School in 1946 where he was a lineman for their football team. He then continued to play semi-professionally for the Marcus Hook Amvets and was an avid Eagles fan and Ravens fan. Paul and Beryl wed on January 6, 1956; they were happily married for 61 years and live in Smyrna, Delaware. Paul was an active Freemason for 50 years and a proud Shriner. He was also a lifetime member of the Marcus Hook Oldtimers Club. A Masonic Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 11a.m.-2 p.m. at the Bon Ayre community clubhouse, 700 Saks Street, Smyrna, DE, 19977.
