In memory of
James Bae
March 15, 1939 - April 11, 2017 James "Chun Soon" Bae, 78, of La Mirada, California, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home. He is survived by daughters Anna, Rose and Joann and his wife of 24 years, Youngsook. He was preceded in death by his wife Un Won in 1985. Mr. Bae was born on March 15, 1939 in South Korea.  His talent and skill level for Tae Kwon Do garnered him a unique position training the elite Korean Special Forces who fought in Vietnam. That talent partnered with his unparalleled work ethic followed him to the United States where he was able to attain his citizenship. He set up a martial arts school in Long Beach, CA and worked for Southland Industries in the engineering department for 33 years.  Mr. Bae did not believe in "blowing his own trumpet" but his talents ranged from the aforementioned martial arts skills to the visual arts, singing, and being a "natural comedian."  His daughters inherited these talents and reaped the benefits of his hard work: Anna is an artist, Rose is an actress and singer, and Joann works in Data Management at Sony Pictures. Mr. Bae was an incredibly altruistic man who always helped those in need anonymously.  It would honor his memory to give donations to Action Against Hunger USA in lieu of flowers.
