Elias (Alex) Gonzalez Elias (Alex) Gonzalez was born in Miami, Arizona on July 20, 1928, He was peacefully called to the Lord on April 14, 2017, surrounded by his wife & children. He was affectionately known as Alex or Manito to all his friends & family. Predeceased by his parents: Santos & Hermelinda Gonzalez, "Alex", is survived by his wife: Carolina (Carol) & his children: Michael (Gabbie), Theresa Morales, John (Rose) & Danny (Georgia); he leaves his legacy on this earth through his 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren & 1 Great-great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his 4 Step Grandchildren, 2 Step Great Grandchildren, 2 brothers & 4 sisters. He worked for Department of Recreation & Parks for many years, & volunteered countless hours at John Mendez Baseball Field, when it was called John S. Gibson Field. For his hard work & dedication, he was honored to have the small field named after him at the dedication of the baseball park, "The Small diamond is known as the Ron & Alex Field". He will be remembered by all his family & friends. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Wilmington, 1640 Avalon Blvd., Wilmington, CA 90744. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church 1011 East "L" St. Wilmington, CA 90744 with Interment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park 27501 S.
