Donald A. Dybowski
Donald A. Dybowski Donald A. Dybowski, 63, a longtime Sylvania resident, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Flower Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a 2 year battle with multiple myeloma. He was born on June 1, 1953 to Edward and Stephanie Dybowski in Chicago, Illinois. Don, along with his wife Sue, had a passion for traveling, and together they visited countries throughout Europe, Africa, and numerous islands in the South Pacific and Caribbean. In addition to visiting countries all around the world, Don also had a love of the ocean, and the world that lives under the seas. He was an avid scuba diver, who achieved over 150 dives in the waters of the South Pacific, the Caribbean, Mexico and South America. Don joined the Sohio Central Engineering Unit in Cleveland in 1975 as an instrument engineer after graduating from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. During his career, he held a number of roles in the instrument and controls field in California, Texas, Lima, Ohio and Toledo and progressed into a highly respected expert in Instrumentation and Control ending his career as Instrumentation and Controls Superintendent at the BP/Husky Toledo refinery in Oregon, Ohio. He retired in April, 2014. Don is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan (Nicola) Dybowski; his children, Allison (Albert) Devora of Eagle River, Alaska and David (Allison) Dybowski of Bay Village, Ohio; granddaughter, Annabelle, of Eagle River, Alaska; mother, Stephanie Dybowski; brother, Dennis (Kathryn) Dybowski; sister, Debra (Daniel) Steward; and nieces, Carrie, Becky and Christina and nephews, Steven and Anthony. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary, 3815 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo. The Funeral Mass will take place Friday morning, April 21, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main Street, Sylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to a charity close to Don's heart, America Share, 15 West 26th Street, New York, NY 10010 or through .
