Richard A. Farnsworth
VILLA VILLAGES, FL - Richard Allen Farnsworth, 76, of The Villages, FL and formerly of Racine, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Cornerstone Hospice House surrounded by his loving wife, his three sons and his very special daughter-in-law. Born January 18, 1941 in Racine, WI to Clarence and Dorthy (Van Marter) Farnsworth. He lived most of this life in Racine until he retired to The Villages, FL in 2003. Richard and the former Barbara Drilla were married on August 19, 1961 by Monsignor Henry J. Schmitt at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Racine , WI. Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1958-61. He was employed by J.I. Case Local 180 for 27 years, retiring in January 2000. Richard was a member of the Fifth Street Yacht Club and Salmon Unlimited. He coached youth football and enjoyed time with his wife, family and friends on his boat, Barb's Choice, along with fishing, golfing, camping and a good Gin and Tonic. Richard was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and of the Wisconsin Club in The Villages, FL. Richard is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Farnsworth, his three sons, Mark Farnsworth and his partner Nick Dombrowski of Green Bay, WI. Ronald/Shelli Farnsworth of The Villages, FL. and James Farnsworth of Waterford, WI. His seven grandchildren, Caitlin, Michael and Sam Farnsworth, Miles, Josh, Tyler/Katie Farnsworth, Macy Farnsworth, great grandson, Carson Munro and his nieces Susan Applegate and Lynn Weber, his sister-in-law Ellen/Steven Sundstrom and brother-in-law Ronald/Marcia Drilla. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence/Dorthy Farnsworth, his in-laws, Michael and Marion Drilla, his brother Charlie Farnsworth, his sister Arlene Weber and his brother-in-law Rueben Weber. His family would like to thank all that assisted in Richard's care and providing support to him and to his family during his illness. His family would like to also extend a special thank you to all this close friends that were their in his time of need.
