Milton R. Leman EUREKA - Milton Richard Leman, 97, of Eureka went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at 2:04 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka. He was born on October 1, 1919, in Metamora, IL, a son of Alpheus and Lena Sauder Leman. He married Caroline Farney on December 14, 1941, in Cissna Park, IL. She passed away on July 20, 1994. He later married Geraldine Plattner Laukhuf on January 8, 1997. She passed away on June 29, 2011. Milton is survived by three sons, Robert (Dee) Leman of Germantown Hills, Terry (Shirley) Leman of Secor, and Larry (Marilyn) Leman of Eureka; one son-in-law, Craig Johns of Woodland Hills, CA; step-children, Dan (Jayne) Plattner and Sam (Pat) Plattner; eleven grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Wanda) Leman; two sisters, Marge (Rich) Rocke and Carolee Unsicker; sister-in-law, Nora Leman; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Shirley Johns; four brothers, Walter, Ivan, Loren and Gerald; and one great-granddaughter, Alayna Gerst. He was a lifelong farmer in the Secor area, serving many years on the Secor Elevator Board, and had served as a World War II Army medic in the Normandy Invasion and European Theater. Milton was a member of the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday at the church before the service. Burial with military rites at the grave will be in Roanoke Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff of the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka for all of the love and support over the years.
