COLETTA, WILLIAM “BILL” William “Bill” Coletta, 86 of North Haven formerly of Hamden and New Haven died peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of twelve years to Kathy Massella Coletta. Bill was born in New Haven on August 23, 1930, a son of the late Joseph and Lucia Ciardiello Coletta, and had resided in both New Haven and Hamden for most of his life before moving to North Haven twelve years ago. He was a conductor for Conrail and later Amtrak for over thirty years, retiring in 1993. Bill is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Viola Lanzilli and Mary DeLucia, and six brothers, Ralph, Dennis, Raymond, Armand, Omero, and Dennis Coletta. Bill’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral procession will leave at 10:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
