Genevieve Henrichs PEORIA - Genevieve Ann Henrichs, 92, of Peoria passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 5:55 a.m., peacefully, in her home, after spending the last days with her loving family at her side. She was born in Gridley, IL, on November 5, 1924, to Elizabeth and Emil Grusy. Genevieve's life was committed to family and service, as well as enjoying friends and family over the years in her volunteering, bridge playing, rooting for her Chicago Cubs and Bradley Braves and selfless caring for all. She is survived by her 2 children, Thomas (Christina) and Lisa (Andrew) Remack; 3 grandchildren, Reid Thomas Henrichs (Rachel Greene), Roger Mitchell Henrichs (Melissa) and Ann Elizabeth Remack; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 step-daughters; and 2 step-grandchildren; along with loving siblings, Kathleen Kaufman, Marilyn Hany, Franklin Grusy and Burton Grusy; and other family members. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reid O. Henrichs; an infant daughter; and infant grandson. Genevieve was active over the years in various organizations, including Proctor Hospital Auxiliary (now UnityPoint Health-Proctor Gift Shop), where she volunteered over 20,000 hours, First United Methodist Church, Chicago Cubs Booster Club, bridge groups, Multiple Sclerosis and Peoria Golf League. The family thanks seven years of exceptional caregiving by Sharon Baer, whose dedicated service enhanced the quality of Genevieve's life. During the last day of Genevieve's life, UnityPoint Hospice Peoria provided exceptional care. A private family memorial service with burial will follow in Gridley Cemetery.
