In memory of
William (Bill) Nelson
William (Bill) Nelson November 8, 1954 ~ April 5, 2017 Bill loved people- none more than his wife, daughters & grandkids. Escaping his tales of their perfection was nearly impossible. He never left a conversation without an "I love you" & a hug that lingered for hours- not only because he was so genuine, but also because he routinely used more than the suggested amount of cologne. Anyone who knew him could agree that he had a big heart, and that, in the end, is what unexpectedly took his life. Bill was a legend in his own right- at least in Ballard, where he spent his whole life. He believed if you couldn't get it in Ballard, you didn't need it. He took fashion cues from no one. He felt Levis were appropriate for all occasions, shirts were optional and pooka shells pulled any outfit together. His favorite past times included yelling at the refs through the TV, giving advice, and fixing any broken item, MacGyver style, with only epoxy and zip ties. His heaven was Camano Island, where he spent hours raking the beach, hitting buckets of balls, fishing with his grandkids, and telling stories by the fire about the "roads we walk in life." He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Keely (Chris), daughter Ashley (Chris) and alleged "favorite daughter" Chelsey. He will live on forever as a superhero to his four grandkids- Annabelle, Hunter, Carter & Andrew. Please join his family for a celebration of his life on April 21st, 5:30 PM, at the Ballard Elks.
