Alois J. Krininger
Alois J. Krininger Born February 21, 1922, Seattle, passed away March 27, 2017 at age 95. Survived by his loving wife, Katherine, of almost 75 years, and children Kathy Pulliam, Paula (Robert) Lewis, Sally C Hass (Dan Walsh), and son Capt. Al Krininger. He was preceded in death by his sister's Sally (Davy) Jones, Alvina (Myron) Brixner, Lucy Krininger, Alice (Elmer) Davis, Margaret (Chuck) Voss, Mitzi (Bill) Ohlstrom. Al had 2 surviving sisters, Delores (John) Acurio and Mary Krininger. His surviving grandchildren are Jennifer (Scott) Haubrich, Robert (Kristin) Lewis, Krista Nunez, Julieann (Patrick) Marshall, Derek and Kristopher Krininger.Great-grandchildren are Riley and Mason Haubrich, Jesse Nunez, Grace M Lewis, Jon R Lewis, Sally L. Marshall. Al is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as grand-nieces and nephews. Al was raised on Queen Anne, and at age 18 started a 48 year career at Boeing. In 1979, he was the Boeing Man of the Year for the successful ACLM program. Al worked on the B-17 and B-29, B-47 GAPA, (the first missile program of the U.S.A.F.) He was Manager of Engineering Development Laboratories for Hibex and Bomarc Missile. Al was Manufacturing manager on the Minuteman Millile & Dyna Soar Experimental Programs. Manufacturing Manager on Lunar Orbiter and Lunar Rover Space Program. Al was Aerospace Manufacturing factory manager for over 8 years, and served as President of the Boeing Retired Managers Association, for 2 years. In 1991 Al was asked to head the restoration efforts on FIFI, the only flying B-29 aircraft which was brought back to Seattle. FIFI flew at the 50th anniversary of the B-29. Al lived in West Seattle & built a summer home at Lake Tapps. There will be a Celebration of Life Mass at Holy Rosary, April 29th, Saturday @ noon, followed by family & friends gathering @ Salty's on Alki. Donations to the Boeing Museum of Flight.
