In memory of
Jean MADDIGAN
MADDIGAN, Jean Jean (Swan) Maddigan passed away peacefully at home on April 7th, 2017. She was born on February 10, 1929 in Coatbridge, Scotland to George and Jane Swan. In 1950 she immigrated to the United States to marry Bob Maddigan, who came to Santa Rosa the previous year from Scotland in search of a new career. They were married in the First Presbyterian Church. Jean worked at the Emporium in Santa Rosa for about ten years but primarily cherished her time as a loving wife and mother. Having grown up during the depression and war years in Scotland Jean appreciated the simple things in life. She loved spending time with her family, vacations to Santa Cruz, and going out to dinner with friends and family. Jean will be remembered for her warm smile and easy going way. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her sisters Margaret, Peggy, Betty, and Brother Robert. Jean is survived by her sons; John, Bob (Sue), George (Nancy); Granddaughters, Haley and Audrey; Grandsons, Michael and Jeffrey (Samantha); Great Grandchildren, Clara and James. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ann and many loving nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Mary Ann, for taking such good care of her. A small private celebration will be held in her honor. Donations may be made in Jean's name to Sutter Health Hospice Care at Home.
