Joseph S. Peters Stevensville, MD Joseph Stewart Peters, 78, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 after a brief battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He died at home surrounded by family and friends. Joe was born in York, on March 31, 1939 to Clarence and Regina Peters. He graduated from William Penn High School in 1957. He served in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War then settled in Upper Marlboro, MD where he raised his family. Joe's occupation for most of his life was in trucking and warehousing, retiring in 2000 as Vice President of Forman Brothers, Inc., Washington, DC. Joe is survived in life by his devoted wife, Dana; son, Andy and his children, Joe Maddox, Tara Mason, Brady and Taylor Peters; son, Dan and wife, Kathy and their children, Travis, Caleb and Justin; daughter, Lisa Smith and husband, Greg and their children, Hunter, Parker and MacKenzie; and daughter, Ginger Tucker. Also surviving Joe are one aunt, Audrey Zuch; two brothers, Woody of Ithaca, NY and Barry of York; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins Joe was kind and compassionate, always made us laugh with his quick wit and incredible sense of humor, loved people and made everybody he met feel like family. He will be missed beyond belief. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 22, 2017, 10 a.m., at Divine Peace Lutheran Church, 1500 Brown Station Road, Largo, MD 20774. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joe's name to his church named above; Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Drive, Centreville, MD 21617; or the charity of your choice
