FERGLE EVELYN of Clarkston, formerly of Grosse Pointe Woods and St. Clair Shores. April 13, 2017. Age 85. Wife of Donald for 64 years. Mother of Donald (Laura) and Ronald (Nancy Gross). Grandmother of Daniel, Matthew, and Elliot. Sister of Irene Broyles and the late Dorothy Haas. Survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Mary (Safranek) Krenek. Evelyn graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School and Morton Jr. College. She earned a BS degree in Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and taught at Roseville High and at Grant/Oakwood Jr. High until retiring in 1986. Until one month ago Evelyn regularly substitute taught in Grand Blanc, Lake Orion, and Clarkston Middle Schools. She was extremely proud of her Czech heritage. Evelyn was founding member/director of Czech and Slovak Genealogy Society of Illinois, founding member of Friends of Bohemian National Cemetery, member of Sokol Detroit and Lodge Pingree of CSA Fraternal Life. She served on the Alumni Board of Miami University and former officer of SE MI Alumni Assn for 25 years. Evelyn was a member of Grosse Pointe Congregational Church and life member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She will be remembered as a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher. Funeral Service Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston where friends may visit Monday 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Interment Ottawa Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grosse Pointe Congregational Church, Friends of Bohemian National Cemetery, or Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center. Online guestbook, .
