Edward J. Antosz
NORTHAMPTON - Edward J. Antosz, 95, of Hockanum Road, died April 11, 2017, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Born Dec. 1, 1921, in Haydenville, he was the son of the late Andrew and Agnes Antosz. When he was two years old his family moved to Northampton and Edward has lived in that house for the past 93 years. He worked for many years and retired from Smith and Wesson in Springfield. Edward was an avid golfer, who loved to follow University of Massachusetts Basketball, and New England Sports teams, Red Sox, Celtics, and especially the New England Patriots. He loved listening to Polka music and dancing with his wife. Edward always loved to walk everywhere and people would see him walking all around town. He was the youngest of 11 children was predeceased by all his siblings. Edward leaves his loving wife Adele (Papuga) Antosz; sons Alan Antosz, Edward Antosz and his wife Jina; step-grandson Dalton Makepeace; many generations of nieces and nephews; and many close friends. The funeral will be Friday, April 21, at 10 a.m. from the Czelusniak Funeral Home, and a Mass at St. Valentines Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hatfield. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations in Ed's memory can be made to the St Valentine's Church, 127 King St., Northampton, MA 01060, or to the charity of one's choice.
