David C. Pressnall
David C. Pressnall Nov. 16, 1924 - April 9, 2017 Walnut Creek David C. Pressnall, 92, passed away Sunday April 9th in Citrus Heights. The son of the late Harold and Pauline Pressnall was born in New Castle, Indiana. The family relocated to Berkeley, California during the depression. David was a standout athlete at Oakland High School, graduating in 1942. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 1942. He served in combat during WWII in the New Britain campaign, the Battle of Peleliu, and the battle of Okinawa, where he was wounded in combat and received a purple heart. He was honorably discharged in October 1945. After returning, he married Nancye Whitney and began a 30 year career with GMAC. The family moved to Walnut Creek in 1957. David loved hosting parties for friends and family, lighting up the room with his contagious sense of humor. He enjoyed watching baseball and football, as well as playing cards and dice games. He was a great role model to his three children, and especially enjoyed attending their sporting events and providing encouragement. Later he enjoyed bringing smiles to his granddaughters and great grandsons. David was preceded in death by his wife Nancye, his brother Raymond, and partner Caroline Dildine. He is survived by his children Dana Pressnall and wife Lisa of Midland, MI, Debra Pressnall of Collinsville, AL, and David Pressnall and wife Khuyen of Walnut Creek, as well as 6 granddaughters and 5 great grandsons. Military Funeral Honors and interment will take place at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA on Thursday April 20th at 2 pm. View the online memorial for David C. Pressnall
