Charles F. Kraft
Charles "Charlie" Frederick Kraft, 73, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Bobbie Kay Johnson Kraft, died Saturday afternoon, March 25, 2017, at his home. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was a son of the late Charles Frederick Kraft and the late Gertrude W. Klein Kraft. Charlie was a United States Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He attended Northern Michigan University, San Francisco State University and Sonoma State University. Charlie was a former owner and operator of Charles Kraft Construction in Santa Rosa, California and Charles Kraft Construction in Savannah, Georgia. He was a retired residential and commercial general contractor specializing in the restoration of historical homes, first in San Francisco and later in Savannah. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Kay Johnson Kraft of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Joshua Matthiew Kraft (Marisa) of Portland, Oregon, and Jacob Clayton Alioto of Alameda, California; six grandchildren, Sayla, Tyler, Nick, Charlotte, Beatrix and Amelia; one step-daughter, Stacie Williams New (Chris) of Pooler, Georgia; one step-son, Fred "Freddie" L. Williams III (Tammy) of Thunderbolt, Georgia, and five step-grandchildren, Sunny Williams, Evie Williams, Addison New, Emma New and Aiden New. A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, May 2, 2017, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah. Interment will be private.
