Bennett R. Baskin M.D.
Bennett R. Baskin, MD March 8, 1937 - April 7, 2017 Resident of Alamo Bennett (Ben) was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Louis (a Physician) and Edith (a Teacher). After attending local schools, he earned a B.S. degree in Biology from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. and an election to Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to earn his M.D. from Albany Medical College of Union University in Albany, NY. After medical school, he completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine within the UCSF Hospital System, during which time he met and married the love of his life, Doreen, his wife for 49 years. Following Post-Graduate training, he served 2 years in the U.S. Air Force, and thereafter, began a 30 year career at Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek, retiring in 1997. His passions included camping and fishing, traveling and cruising, following the Financial Markets, and last, but not least, his family. He leaves behind his wife (Doreen), son (Brian, a Physician), daughter in law (Lisa-Marie Magana), grand daughter (Bailey Olivia), and brother (George and family in NY). He will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA. A celebration of his amazing life will be held at Hap Magee Park in Danville on Sunday, June 25, 2017.
