Susan Kay Ondreyka
Ondreyka, Susan Kay Ann Arbor, Michigan Susan Kay Ondreyka, 60, of Ann Arbor, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Melvin & Virginia Sinclair on May 23, 1956 in Ann Arbor and graduated from Pioneer High School. Susan was an enthusiastic opera singer and graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance from the University Of Michigan School Of Music. She was an officer in the Gilbert & Sullivan Society and performed many roles in their productions. She also volunteered at the VA Hospital and sang at church services and weddings for many years. On December 13, 1980 Susan married Dennis Ondreyka who she met while working at the University of Michigan. They had two amazing children, Ben & Jenny, who became Susan's pride and joy. She was a natural mother, caring for her children, and many others who would hang out at her home, and was active in their activities and community. Susan was an amazing woman with a contagious joy that made everyone smile. She was a selfless individual who did everything for the benefit of others and required nothing in return. She radiated grace, kindness, positivity, brightness, had a great sense of humor, and was loved by everyone who ever knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Melvin E. Sinclair. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Ondreyka, son, Benjamin (Jill), daughter, Jenny, mother, Virginia Sinclair, Sister, Cheryl Sinclair (John Porter) and many loved cousins, relatives, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 18 at St. Francis Catholic Church (2250 E. Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor), followed by interment at Washtenong Memorial Park (3771 Whitmore Lake Rd., Ann Arbor) directly following the service. In lieu of a visitation, a memorial luncheon will be held at Polo Fields Washtenaw Golf Club (2955 Packard St., Ypsilanti) from 12:00pm - 2:30pm.
