Edward F. Stewart, born October 21, 1917 passed away peacefully on February 1, 2017. Longtime resident of Arlington and Belmont, MA and Colleyville, TX. Married on September 24, 1949 to Anna Elizabeth Glynn (deceased) for 61 devoted and happy years. Loving stepfather to Stanley Russell (deceased) and father to Gail Stewart (deceased) and Glenn Stewart of Colleyville, TX. World War II veteran rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant 2201st Hospital Squadron of the Army of the United States. Awarded the Victory Medal. Served as Technical Sergeant 1141st Medical Services Squadron, 1070th Medical Actys Group in Bremerhaven, Germany earning the Bronze Clasp to Good Service Medal from the Air Force of the United States. Member of the New England Teamsters & Trucking Industry serving as union steward, working for the Mutual Paper Company and Ingalls-Cronin Co., retiring in 1988. Avid member of the Notre Dame Football Subway Alumni. Instrumental in the 1960's in the development of Somerville, MA Pop Warner. Lifelong member of the Episcopal Church attending St. John's Episcopal Church in Arlington, MA and All Saints Episcopal Church in Belmont, MA. Loving father-in-law to Judith Reny Stewart, devoted grandfather to Emily Garai, Anastasia, Vanessa and Carolina Stewart, Judith Russell Mitchell and Ann Russell and great-grandfather to Caleb Russell Garai, Erika Rajkovic (Mitchell) and Chris Mitchell. Uncle to Justine Glynn, Sarah Little (Glynn), Nancy and Priscilla Glynn, Pierre Glynn, Fred Stanley Glynn (deceased), Margaret, Deirdre, Leah and Anne Glynn and several great-nephews and great-nieces. Service at 11 AM Saturday, March 18 at St. Laurence Episcopal Church, 519 N. Kimball Avenue, Southlake, TX with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Honor Flight Network, 175 South Tuttle Road, Springfield, OH 45505. Interment will be at North Cemetery in Natick, MA in August.
