Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness, 7168 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite 100, Columbia, MD, or you can contribute online at http://www.blindness.org/tributes-memorials . Gerry was born July 29, 1931, in Alvarado, Texas, to William Wade and Wilma Crow. She was the oldest of four siblings. She attended Cahill Public School and graduated from Alvarado High School. In 1951, she met Ed Adams from Amarillo, Texas, when they both were employed by Convair (now Lockheed). They were married in 1952 and settled in Fort Worth. The couple had two daughters, Janice Adams White and Kathy Adams Levi. The family moved to Joshua, Texas, in the mid-60s. During this time, Gerry, who had earlier completed cosmetology school, opened her own hair salon, which she operated for several years. In 1971, Ed and Jerry moved to Burleson, Texas, where Gerry continued to live until her death. Ed and Gerry were doting grandparents to three grandsons and enjoyed close friendships with their neighbors on Southeast Newton Street. In 1996, Ed passed away and Gerry began developing her reputation as a strong-willed, independent widow and compassionate caregiver. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Max Wade. The family extends a special thanks to Bill and Pat Mahanay for always lending a helping hand. Survivors: She is survived by her siblings, Maxine Fletcher and Marion Wade; her daughters; sons-in-law, Tom White and David Levi; and grandsons, Brian Aston and wife, Mary Kathryn Aston, Blake Aston, Adam Levi, Spencer White and Kyle White. She was the proud great-grandmother of Caroline, Thompson, Brooks and Davis.
