Hugh Franklin (Mac) McCrary
Hugh Franklin "Mac" McCrary, 82, went to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, in Decatur. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Fellowship Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Pastor Frankie Garcia will officiate. Pallbearers: Don Alexander, Cody Gillispie, Bill Austin, Vondel Floyd, Chris Hutchings and Don Hutchings. Mac was born on March 9, 1934, in Ensley, Ala., to Rexford Allen and Goldie Ray McCrary. Mac was a pilot in the United States Air Force. He retired after 22 years of service. Upon retiring, Mac went on to become a district manager for Hollis Jones Dairy Queens, owned and operated three restaurants--one in Bridgeport, Decatur, and Runaway Bay. Mac had a rental business and later became a real estate agent in the Runaway Bay Area. He was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Decatur. Mac met and married the love of his life, a wee Scottish lass, Isabel from Johnstone, Scotland. Together they enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. Mac was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by everyone more than words will ever be able to express.
