In memory of
Frances Rowe 4/27/1923 - 2/11/2017 Frances 'Fran' Rowe, 93, died peacefully in Auburn, Caqlif. Fran (Dziezyc) a native of Stamford, Connecticut was one of seven children born to Polish immigrant parents. In 1944, she married Bill Rowe and shortly thereafter moved to California, where they resided in Auburn for over 32 years. On October 7, 2010, they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Fran and Bill were longtime members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Fran was also a committed "Third Order" Carmelite, an association of lay people who choose to live the Gospel in the spirit of the Carmelite Religious Order. A highly skilled typist, Governor Ronald Reagan once asked her to be his personal secretary. However, Fran declined due to Bill's real estate appraisal business, where she served for many years as office manager, bookkeeper and secretary. An accomplished painter and pianist, Fran loved teaching piano lessons to children. She also excelled at the ancient form of lace making called tatting. She loved outdoor sports, especially skiing, ice skating and rollerblading, and continued to do so well into her mid 70's. Fran and Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to other countries, especially the Holy Land. Fran had a wonderful sense of humor, keen mind and kind heart, and was loved by her many friends and family. Fran is survived by her sister, Louise Ryhal of Carmichael, and many nieces and nephews.
