Mariann was born in Manhattan on February 9, 1922 and her family soon moved to Penns Grove. She was a graduate of Penns Grove High School and she continued her education, earning her Associates Degree from Goldey-Beacom College. In 1952, Mariann was married to Vincent "Enzo" Savarese, in both a civil service in Naples, Italy and later at a church service at St. James R.C. Church in Penns Grove. A devout Catholic, Mariann was a member of the Parish of St. Gabriel the Archangel, the Senior Saints, the Mother of Grace Society and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Washington Club. Mariann was a kind and loving lady who was very strong in her faith. You would never find her without her rosary beads in her hands.
