Elsie M. Neumeister
Elsie M. Neumeister, 86, of Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, formerly of Hegins, passed away Wednesday at Seton Manor. Born Oct. 14, 1930, in Hegins, she was a daughter of the late Nathan Francis Geist and Berdelle Kauffman Geist. She attended Hegins area schools. Elsie enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and loved animals. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Neumeister, in 1971. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Russell Geist, Wayne Minnich and Charles Geist; two sisters, Florence Wetzel and Helen Reightler; and a longtime dedicated friend, Clarence R. "Smokey" Trathen. She is survived by a son, James E. Neumeister and his wife, Mary Jean, Hegins; a daughter, Betty M. Trabosh and her husband, Joseph, Pottsville; two granddaughters, Michelle R. Koppenhaver and her husband, Keith, Gratz, and Dr. Valerie A. Trabosh DiVito and her husband, Dr. Kyle DiVito, Burkittsville, Md.; three great-grandchildren, Dustin Koppenhaver, Gratz, and twins, Kennedy and Sawyer DiVito, Burkittsville; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Michael C. Klahr officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Ashland. Memorial contributions can be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O.
