In memory of
Reed Byhring passed away on Wednesday, February 15th 2017 at the age of 62 with his devoted family and the love of his life, Kathy, by his side. Born in Chicago, Reed attended childhood school in Roselle and received his bachelors degree in business from Southern Illinois University. He began his career early on in the printing industry and quickly achieved broad success, eventually moving on to own and run his own business where he enjoyed a long, successful and fulfilling career. Reed was a devout and committed family man who instilled in his children and grandchildren many of the traits and qualities that made him so special. Always quick with a joke, witty comment, or sage advice on life, Reed would light up the room with his infectious smile. He always found himself surrounded by people as he shared stories of his inspiring independence at an early age, and incredible life experiences as an avid traveler, sportsman and adventurist. On any given Sunday, you could find Reed cheering on his beloved Packers while cooking up a storm in the kitchen and exchanging friendly banter with surrounding Bears fans and friends. Despite a long-standing battle with illness, Reed remained a fearless fighter and inspiring optimist who will be remembered by those who knew him best for his deep love and pride for family, and a passion for living life to the fullest. Reed is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sharon Byhring, and survived by his loving wife of 15 years Kathleen; children Kara Jones, Lindsey (Josh) Barlow, Jordan (Lindsey) Byhring, and Jason Byhring; step children Natalie (Anthony) Pavone, Meghan (Kevin) Kean, Allyson (Ryan) Hanna, and Jimmy Radecki; grandchildren Kayleigh and Abigail Jones, Vivian Barlow, and Anthony Pavone Jr.; sister Michelle (Dan) McCarren; and many other dear relatives and friends. A funeral service for Reed will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10:00 am at Christ Community Church, 37W100 Bolcum Road, St. Charles with Pastor Mike Hurn, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora, IL. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 19 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38), Geneva.
