Ruth H. Wilson
Ruth H. Wilson 1922-2017 94, passed away on Feb. 15, 2017. She was born Oct. 29, 1922 in Akron to the late Henry and Cora Heller. She served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II as a Control Tower Operator. Ruth went on to the University of Texas receiving a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Colonel H. Speed Wilson; brothers, Austin, Duane, and Grant Heller; sister: Margaret Milner, Mildred Cross, and Letha Kovacs. She is survived by her son, Scott S. Wilson, a Marine veteran; and daughter, Stephanie K. Burtner. Ruth was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt who was a devoted Christian, always thinking of others. Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m., where services will be held on Monday, at 11 a.m., Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
