William David "Billy" Nance
William "Billy" David Nance, 79, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017, at his home in Ripley. He was born on June 17, 1932, to William "Will" Henry and Alvertie King Nance in Ripley. He was a veteran serving for seven years in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was owner and operator of Nance and Sons Construction of over forty-five years. Billy was a Christian and a member of Academy Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for more than thirty years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for more that fifty years. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Academy Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Cobb, Bro. William Carpenter and Bro. Terry Hall officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at McBride Funeral Home and Saturday, February 18, 2017, from 7:00 A.M. until service time at 2:00P.M. at Academy Baptist Church in Blue Mountain. Billy is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Alma Hall Nance of Ripley; one daughter, Rondia Nance and three sons, Kerry Nance (Therese); David Nance (Sarah); Michael Nance (Amy), all of Ripley; one sister, Hellen Nance Maxwell (Jimmy) of Ripley; ten grandchildren, Christy Nance; Tammy Boyd (Eric); Will Nance (Amy); Joseph Smithey (Haylee); Wendie Terry (Mac); Erika Smithey; Jacob Nance; Laura Bailey Nance; Ethan Nance; Aleigha Nance; fifteen great-grandchildren, Mason Mayo; Reagan Nance; Grant, Terrill and Emily Boyd; Rachelle, Sarah Kate and Little Billy Nance; Evan and Izzy Smithey; Brooks Terry; Carter Locke; Aubree Terry; Camron and Braylyn Smithey. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Rutherford Nance; two sisters, Cordavie Paseur and Lou Ella Boyette; three grandsons, twins Jacob Andrew and Jarette Cole Nance; Justin Allen Nance. Pallbearers will be, Will Nance, Joseph Smithey, Mac Terry, Eric Boyd, Ethan Nance, Jacob Nance. Honorary pallbearers will be, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
