In memory of
Shirley L. Speckhals, 79, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, Creve Coeur, Missouri. Shirley was born in Berger, Missouri, on May 6, 1937, a daughter of the late Harry and Louise (Bruening) Schulte. She was the wife of Louis "Dugan" Speckhals. They were married on May 5, 1956, at St. Paul's Church, Berger, Missouri. Dugan survives at the home. Shirley is also survived by four sons, Allen Speckhals and wife Sharen, of Hermann, Missouri; twin sons Kevin Speckhals of Hermann, Missouri; and Keith Speckhals and wife Teresa of Fenton, Missouri; and Kurt Speckhals and wife Karen of St. Charles, Missouri; By three brothers, Donald Schulte of Hermann, Missouri; Jim Schulte and wife Gladys of Hermann, Missouri; and Carrol Schulte and wife Betty, of Greensboro, North Carolina; a sister, Georgia Ann Rohlfing and husband Lloyd of New Haven, Missouri; a half-sister, Shirley Ann Trippe and husband Bill of St. Louis; By 11 grandchildren, Cullen and wife Caitlin, Branden, Dustin and wife Andrea, Jenna, Renee, Casey and husband Steve, Laura and fiance' Nate, McKenna and fiance' Danny, Cole, Jessi, and Molly and by four great-grandchildren. Shirley was a member of St. Paul's Church, Berger, Missouri, and of the Hermann V.F.W. Auxiliary. She worked for Ken-Roy Hatchery, for Mallinckrodt and she was a cook for Gasconade County School District at the Berger 5th-Grade Center and for the Hermann Middle School. Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Berger, Missouri, with Father John Deken officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Berger, Missouri. Memorials may be given to St. John's Cemetery, St. Paul Church or Hermann V.F.W., in care of Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
