Norma R. Stuehser
Norma R. Stuehser "My Sweetheart" Norma Rosalie Stuehser, age 76, passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia on February 14, 2017. She was born February 11, 1941 to Florence Hembree and Roy Upton in Akron, Ohio. Her family moved to Madera, California where her parents divorced. Her mother met and married Perry Preston Palmer who raised Norma and her four siblings. Norma was the third of five children. She graduated from Madera High School. After high school she married and had two sons, Jeff Miller (Betty) and Dennis Miller. After a divorce and remarriage, she had two additional children, Cathy Keyes (Brent) and Jim Caldwell (Korina). She later divorced. In 1983, after having moved to Utah, Norma met the love of her life, Al Stuehser. They were married on June 12, 1983. They blended a family over her four children and his three children, Michael Stuehser (Dianne), Steve Stuehser (Julie) and Rosann Greenway (Todd). For 34 years Norma and Al enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Norma retired in 2001 after 24 years as a manager at Harmons. Norma enjoyed working with Al as campground hosts at Spruces and Tanners Flat campgrounds in the Cottonwood Canyons for 13 seasons. She loved camping, gardening, crocheting and spending time with her 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Norma is survived by her loving husband, Al Stuehser; Children: Jeff Miller (Betty), Cathy Keyes (Brent), Jim Caldwell (Korina), Mike Stuehser (Dianne), Steve Stuehser (Julie), Rosann Greenway (Todd); Siblings: Hilda Weathers (Bud), Johnny (Audrey), Danny Upton (Sue); 20 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dennis Miller; her brother, Marshall Upton; and brother-in-law, Bud Weathers. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sunrise and The Wentworth memory care centers and Brighton Hospice for the love and care given to Norma in her final days. Funeral services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held for family and friends on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. as well 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.
