Theresa Scovell Loving wife, mother, and grandmother homeschooled her children Theresa M. Scovell went home to be with her Lord while under the loving care of hospice at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J., on the evening of Feb. 9, 2017. She had been heroically battling stage four breast cancer for some time. Theresa was 54 years old. Theresa was bom to Richard and Barbara Rawlins at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, N.J., on Oct. 11, 1962. She grew up in Flemington and graduated from Hunterdon Central High School, Class of 1980. She later attended Trenton State College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business and had a career as an accountant. On Aug. 11, 1984, she married Thomas R. Scovell at the Flemington Baptist Church. For the last 10 years they have lived in North Brunswick, N.J. Theresa Scovell is survived by her husband, Thomas; six children, Alexander, Donald, William, Laurel, Nicholas and Anna-Sophia; one grandchild, Sienna (daughter of their son William and daughter-in-law Bomi Kim Scovell); Dubraska Goldcheidt (fiancee to Donald Scovell); Vinne Goldcheidt (son of Dubraska Goldcheidt); 10 nephews and one niece; her parents, Richard and Barbara Rawlins; and two brothers, Andrew and wife Amy and three children, and Brian and wife Laura and two children. Theresa was a loving and caring Christian wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and foster parent. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed Bible study, horseback riding, arts and crafts, gardening, and journaling. Besides being an accountant in her earlier years, she was a horseback riding instructor, Sunday School teacher, loving dog and cat owner, active member of the Hunterdon County Homeschool Group and, most importantly, a committed homeschool teacher to her children. A memorial service will be held at the Central Hunterdon Baptist Church, 325 NJ-31, Flemington, N.J., on Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2600 US-1, North Brunswick Township, N.J. 08902, (732) 297-8005, or the Grace Healthcare Services, 105 Fieldcrest Ave., No. 402, Edison, N.J. 08837 (732) 225-4100.
