Jean Hill 1934 - 2017 ATLANTA, IL - Jean Hill, 82, of Atlanta, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Symphony of Lincoln in Lincoln, Ill. There will be a private graveside service on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Atlanta Cemetery in Atlanta, Ill. There will be a celebration of life fellowship at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Colaw Rooming House Bed and Breakfast, 204 Northwest Vine St., Atlanta, IL. Pastor Skeet Stibling will officiate. Jean was born March 16, 1934, in Atlanta, a daughter of Edward and Maude Awe Baker. She married Doyle Hill on April 5, 1953, in Atlanta. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1986. Survivors include one daughter, Glenda (Greg) Mears of Saybrook; son, Bill (Laurie Riedle) Hill of Lawndale; son, Mark (Sandy) Hill of Atlanta; eight grandchildren: Brian (Alicia) Mayberry of Atlanta, Michele (Josh) Brown of Clinton, Jammie (Melissa) Hill of Hopedale, Valerie (Shawn Danielson) Hutchcraft of Atlanta, Chad (Kody) Hill of Atlanta, Devon (Jordan) Talbert of Minier, Megan (Micah) Schultz of LeRoy, and Alex Mears of Normal; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Winton Baker of Bakersfield, Calif. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Mrs. Hill was a member of Park Meadow Baptist Church in Lincoln. She loved visiting her grandkids, working in her flower gardens and fishing. Memorials can be made to: American Cancer Society. Kirby Funeral Home, 708 S. Main Street, Homer is handling arrangements.
