John A. 'Jack' Fischer Evansville, Ind. John A. "Jack" Fischer, 73, of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 4:22 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. Jack was born in Evansville, Ind., on February 4, 1944, the son of the late Charles and Nellie (Edwards) Fischer. He graduated from North High School in 1962, and went to work for Whirlpool Corporation where he worked in material control for 32 years and retired as a supervisor after 43 years, in 2006. He was also employed at Huebner Trucking as a diesel mechanic for 18 years. Jack loved to go fishing, golfing, and bowling and the people he did them with, traveling to many bowling tournaments together. They won the Courier Press All Stars Elimination Tournament in 1978 and 1979. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #427. He is survived by his sons, John A. Fischer (Vicki), of Philpot, Ky., and Jeffrey W. Fischer, of Evansville, Ind.; siblings, June Ellen Smith, of Nev., and Roy Fischer, of Mo.; grandchildren, Shree Bowman, John A. Fischer and Amanda Fischer. He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Nancy (Hughes) Fischer; and siblings, Sandra Dorse, Charles, Jerry, Paul and Ronald Fischer. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville, with Reverend Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel. Condolences may be made to the family online at .
