Walter Schauer
Walter Schauer, 89, of Whiting passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born in Trenton, Mr. Schauer lived in Whiting, Hamilton Township and West Palm Beach, Florida. Walter was a Veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Korea prior to the Korean War. He was the founding partner of Trenton Starter & Generator in Trenton, NJ in 1948. After retiring in 1992, he moved to Whiting, NJ and West Palm Beach, FL. In retirement, Walter enjoyed traveling and golfing with his wife, Doris, in Florida, Myrtle Beach and New Jersey. Most recently, he enjoyed playing cards weekly with his buddies at Cedar Glen Lakes Community Center. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur R. Schauer and Irene (Kromi) Schauer, his loving wife of 62 years, Doris C. Schauer, he is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Terry Schauer and Alan and Laurie Schauer all of Hamilton; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Allan and Linda Kovach, Dennis and Marie Kovach and Faye Kovach; his grandchildren, Allison and her husband, Joseph Stathius, Kevin Schauer and his wife, Jessica and Brian Schauer and his girlfriend, Megan Constance and many nieces and nephews. Interment will be private in accordance with Walter’s request. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, Mass cards or memorial contributions may be made in Walter’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
