In memory of
Donald W. Taylor
DONALD W. TAYLOR May 31, 1927 ~ January 31, 2017 Don was born in Laona, WI and moved with his parents Wesley and Larue and siblings Ward and Dolores to Morton, WA in 1939. In September of 1948 he moved to Eureka, CA and married Donna Fisch on September 4, 1949. He enlisted in the Navy on April 2, 1945 during World War II and received an Honorable Discharge on July 15, 1946. Don worked in the logging industry all of his married life and told his wife if he had ever had the chance to change his life or vocation, he would not have changed anything. After retirement Don and Donna enjoyed traveling for over 12 years with their 5th wheel mainly staying in AZ. They made many friends that they stayed in contact with even after they quit traveling. His favorite thing was working in his wood shop. He made many gifts for friends and family. Don loved people and life. He had a great personality and sense of humor that we will never forget. He is survived by his wife Donna -- they were married 67 years -- children Leslie Steinke (Scott), Kenneth (Pat), Keith (Gladys) and Brenda Taylor, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, his brother Ward Taylor and sister Dolores Zocher, and his little dog Emma. There will not be any services at his request. If you wish to make a donation, please make it to Hospice of Humboldt. The family appreciated their loving care.
