In memory of
George Yaku-bisin, 70, of Old Forge, formerly of Taylor, died early Friday morning at home. Born in Scranton, on June 3, 1946, he was the son of the late Matthew P. and Mary Kandra Yakubisin. George was a graduate of Taylor High School, class of 1964, and faithfully served in the Army during the Vietnam War era. George retired from McKinney Manufacturing, Scranton, as a machine operator. He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, Taylor. He was a member of UAW Local 1242, and its bargaining committee, St. George's Social Club and the WAPITI Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are a brother, Matthew P. Yakubisin and wife, Mary Ann, Sunnyvale, Calif.; his nieces and nephew, Mary Theresa Saunders, Donna Amaya, Laura Ann and Matthew J. Yakubisin. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Konoski. Family and friends are invited to attend George's funeral Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli, pastor. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Taylor.
