In memory of
Teresa Tirado Miranda
Teresa Tirado Miranda passed peacefully in the early morning hours of February 10th, with family by her side. She had just celebrated her 101st birthday. Teresa was born in Tanhuato, Michucan, Mexico, to Antonio Esqueda Tirado and Rafaela Ramirez Tirado, on January 17, 1916. She was the oldest of nine children. In 1918, Teresa moved to California with her parents at the young age of 2 years. Most of her life was spent in the Earlimart area. Teresa worked in farm labor after only completing the 8th grade. It was the 1930's and times were rough, so she had to help out the family until her marriage at the age of 26. She was a hard worker and had many jobs such as sorting potatoes and packing grapes at the local packing sheds. Teresa also worked at Taylor's Varity Store in Earlimart for many years. Her longest job was working for the Delano Association for Developmentally Disabled. She enjoyed helping other people and would always go out of her way to help a person in need. Family was everything to Teresa. She enjoyed family get-togethers and being with her grandkids. She also was very active in St. Jude's Catholic Church in Earlimart. She helped with many fundraisers to get the church started in the early 1960's. Teresa also enjoyed going to the local Indian Casinos and traveling to the Las Vegas and Laughlin areas. Teresa is survived by her three daughters, Erma Barrera, Eva Valenzuela (Sammy), and Rita Agcaoili, sisters Eva Arambula, Alma Tirado, Rose Ramirez, Carol Alonzo, brother Ralph Tirado, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by the love of her life of seventy years Mike Y. Miranda, sisters Vera, Mary, and Margaret Tirado, son-in-law Mauro Agcaoili, great-granddaughter Gina Lopez, and great-great -grandson Michael Shepard. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017. The viewing will begin at 11 am with a Rosary and Mass to follow at St. Jude Catholic Church in Earlimart.
