In memory of
Andrew "Andy" Brunetti
Andrew "Andy" Brunetti March 8, 1919 - February 10, 2017 Resident of San Jose Andy passed away February 10th at El Camino Hospital in Los Gatos at the age of 97. Andy was born on March 8, 1919 in San Jose CA to George and Jennie Brunetti. He grew up along side his three siblings Joe, Phillip, and Irma. Andy was loved by many for his infectious smile, zest for life, and his overall kindness. He was a true gentleman. Andy may be best known for his artistic talent paired with his unrelenting compassion, which allowed him to dedicate his life to create memorials for thousands of perfect strangers across the Bay Area as their everlasting mark on this earth. Andy's motto will always be "Because someone lived". Andy began carving grave stones by hand at Oak Hill Monument Company in 1936 at the age of 17. He later became the proud owner of California Monumental Company with his beloved wife, Eleanor. He passed his artistic ability and tradition down to his son, Michael, whom he proudly worked beside in his "retirement" years. In later years, Andy's daughter Geralyn and son-in-law Greg began working with the company as well. Andy truly loved his job and carved his last monument at the age of 87 (as pictured above). He spent his last 10 years beside the love his life, his wife of 63 years, "Ellie" and spent time with his grandchildren, whom are his greatest accomplishments. Andy is survived by his wife, Eleanor Brunetti, his son Michael (Patty) Brunetti, and his daughter Geralyn (Greg) Hall, as well as his five grandchildren Michael (Catherine), Tricia, Justin, Kyle, and Christopher. Andy touched each person he met in his own unique way. He will be terribly missed by family and friends but will live in our hearts forever and will never be forgotten. Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at LIMA-CAMPAGNA-ALAMEDA MISSION CHAPEL, 600 S. Second Street, San Jose.
