In memory of
Betty Jeanne Hicks
Betty Jeanne Hicks June 11th 1931 - January 24th 2017 Walnut Creek & San Francisco Betty was born in San Francisco, CA and was raised by her aunt Myra Rossi and her uncle Emil Rossi of San Francisco. She attended Lincoln High School in San Francisco and graduated with the class of '49. After high school she attended San Francisco City College. After college Betty worked as an executive assistant at United States Steel where she met her husband Robert "Bob" Hicks. They were married in August of 1959. They ended up spending 47 happy years together until Bob passed in 2006. Betty spent a majority of her life as a homemaker raising her two sons Tim and Dan. Later in life, she went back to work in retail and thoroughly enjoyed getting back into the workforce. Once she retired for good, she could always be found at one of the senior centers near her home in Walnut Creek. She loved to dance, play cards and do artwork in her later years. To know Betty Hicks was to know one of the nicest people you would ever meet. She was always looking to have a good time and she got enjoyment out of seeing others do the same. Betty will be missed dearly by all that knew her and called her a friend. Betty leaves behind her oldest son Tim, his wife Julie and her two granddaughters Emily and Katie. She also leaves behind her youngest son Dan and his wife Janet. We will all miss her greatly and we are all grateful for the lifetime of memories we had with her. She was one of a kind and she will be missed more than we can say. In lieu of flowers we would ask that you make a donation in Betty's name to either Hospice of the East Bay or ARF in Walnut Creek.
