Fred W. Edgell
Fred W. Edgell, 101, Monroeville, passed away Feb. 11, 2017, at Adams Heritage, Monroeville. He was born in Adams County Sept. 17, 1915, to the late Milton and Clara (Smitley) Edgell. He married Othella Mattax on April 6, 1945; she passed away on July 3, 1985. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. A member of the Spring Hill Missionary Church, he retired as a foreman with McIntosh Industries. Among survivors are a son, Michael Dean Edgell of Decatur; two grandchildren, Jessica and Andrea; one great-grandchild; six step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Spring Hill Missionary Church, with visitation one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place in Spring Hill Cemetery, Berne. Pastor Bill Hull will be officiating. Memorials may be given to the Spring Hill Missionary Church.
