Richard F. Yeager
Richard F. Yeager, age 91, New Paltz N.Y., previously a lifelong resident of Erie, Pa., passed away February 8, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Born on January 30, 1926, in Syracuse, N.Y., he was the son of the late Earl Leo and the late Serena Augusta Salchow Yeager. He married Lois Teubert on June 20, 1953 in Erie, Pa. Mr. Yeager was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1944 to 1946. He was an avid stamp collector and model railroad enthusiast. He also enjoyed gardening and making homemade wine. Richard retired from Lords Corporation, Erie, Pa., where he worked as an electrical engineer. In addition to his wife, Lois of sixty-three years, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell Richard and Karen Yeager of New Paltz, N.Y., and two grandsons, Stephen Russell Yeager of Glenville, N.Y.; and Derek Thomas Yeager and his wife Kallie Yeager of Evansville, Ind. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY 12561 with the Rev. Wayne Olson, Pastor, St. Timothy Lutheran Church, officiating. Friends and relatives may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Community Mausoleum.
