Virgie Lee Strop, 75, of Steele, Missouri, passed away February 1, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Virgie was born in Blytheville to W.M. and Ruby (Brown) Vernon. She was a homemaker and loved to crochet. She never met a stranger. Virgie loved everyone and took care of anyone that needed her. She especially loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Howard Vernon; and two sisters, Becky Vernon and Della Ward. Virgie leaves three sons, Bill Blum (Diane) of Georgia, Howard Blum (Mary) of Texas, and Joe Strop (Brooke) of Walls, Mississippi; one sister, Linda Mangrum of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Cole and Claire Strop. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
