James R. "Jimmy" Turner
James R. "Jimmy" Turner, 77 of Eugene, Oregon, formerly of Harrisburg, past on Saturday January 7, 2017, at the Avamere rehabilitation center In Eugene, Oregon. He was born in Fairmont, NC. on September 26, 1939. Jimmy, as he was known, was a graduate of the former William Penn Senior High school, Harrisburg PA, class of 1957. After serving a 4 year stint in the US Navy, he then entered federal service, at the former Olmsted Air Force base, Middletown, PA., prior to moving to Sacramento, CA. and then to Eugene, Oregon. At a young age, he joined the Saint Paul's Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the junior users, youth choir, and attended Sunday school, and BTU. He will be remembered as a very charismatic person, who loved life and meeting people. He is Preceded in death by his father James Turner. Survived are his mother Lula M. Overton; brother, Frank A. Turner of Harrisburg, PA; wife, Suzanne "Hall" Turner, of Springfield Oregon; daughters, Lynette Wilson, of Germantown MD; Lisa Marie Motton, (Kyron), of Long Beach CA; Robin Gray, (Timothy), of Germantown, MD; son, Christopher of Long Beach, CA. Six grandchildren, a nieces & nephew, along with many friends and associates. Celebration of life will be determined by the family. Burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
